Five teenagers and one adult stole from service station and pushed a woman off her bike in the city on Wednesday night.

The group caught the attention of police just before 9pm on Wednesday, allegedly stealing two baskets of food from a West Terrace service station.

The group left and approached a woman on nearby Glover Avenue, allegedly pushing her off her bike and stealing her backpack.

She was injured and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Police descended on the group as they ran away, setting up cordons and calling in the assistance of the Polair helicopter and Police Dog Zac.

The alleged thieves allegedly tried to escape police by jumping on the train at Wayville, but were met at Woodland Park by patrols.

All six were arrested after police found some of the woman’s property. Her backpack and purse were found on an oval near West Terrace.

A 16-year-old boy from Huntfield Heights and a 13-year-old girl from Christie Downs have been charged with aggravated robbery and theft.

A 13-year-old girl from Christie Downs, along with a 16-year-old girl from Morphett Vale and a 17-year-old boy from Meadows were charged with theft.

They were all bailed to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on April 22.

A 31-year-old woman from Meadows was also charged with theft. She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on June 1.
