A man punched service station employees in a violent attempted robbery where he only ended up leaving with cigarettes and a bottle of Coke.

John Junior Saunders, 33, attempted to rob the petrol station less than two weeks after he was bailed for allegedly robbing a house.

In the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday, a police prosecutor applied to have Saunders’ bail revoked.

The court heard Saunders was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft of a Royal Park residence on March 31.

“Using some object, he cut the screen door and gained entry,” the police prosecutor said.

“It is also alleged that he entered and stole a handbag and credit card.”

The court heard Saunders was arrested and bailed on April 12.

The police prosecutor said Saunders made admissions to committing the alleged home robbery.

Saunders then attended a West Lakes service station on April 21.
