A man clad in a red face bandana with a tomahawk down his pants has tried to rob a service station in rural Victoria.
The man entered the service station on the Princes Highway at Lucknow, in East Gippsland, about 1.20am on March 22.
He demanded cash and cigarettes, while a second man waited outside.
When the store attendant refused to hand anything over, both men fled towards Hadfield Street empty-handed.
CCTV images were released on Wednesday of a man police say can help their inquiries.
Anyone who recognises the man or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
