A new service station site featuring a Pie Face store and separate food and drink outlet has been proposed for the Childers area.

A Material Change of Use application was recently submitted to Bundaberg Regional Council by KPG Nominees PTY LTD Place Design Group, outlining development plans for the service station and a food and drink outlet on the Bruce Highway.

The application states the proposed development includes the configuration of an existing three lots, currently occupied by Childers Caravan Park, to be amalgamated into two lots.

Lot 1 proposes a service station and food and drink outlet in a single storey building.

The service station has separate truck and car refuelling forecourts.

The prospective tenant is United Petroleum, which has purchased the Pie face brand and feature the products at most service station retail stores.

Pie face products include pies, pastries and coffee, which is similar product offering to other service stations.

Proposed plans for Lot 2 include a standalone food and drink outlet featuring a drive through facility.

The application outlines parking plans, to be placed adjacent to the building, with an overall 22 spaces provided for the whole development.

The development application highlights the site has been proposed along the Bruce Highway, a major transport and freight route part of National Highway Route A1.

The highway connects to most of the major towns and cities on Queensland’s east coast, including Bundaberg, north of the site and Maryborough to the south.

A separate development application was also recently lodged for a proposed 24-hour service station with a food and drink outlet over land from 164 to 168 Churchill Street, Childers.
