The CEO of United Petroleum says the company has been blindsided by the AFL’s decision to strip individual ball sponsorship from clubs.

David Szymczak, CEO of United Petroleum, said the decision put the league’s entire sponsorship structure at risk.

“I know the clubs are equally disappointed by the AFL’s decision to have the ball ripped out of their hands,” he said.
