Last week the Chevron Australia Downstream team continued the 6 year tradition of raising money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia at local Puma Energy Stores, raising over $230,000. This years effort brings the total contributed since the partnership began in 2015 to over $1.5m, supporting more than 31,000 sick kids

What started as a small morning tea fundraiser has turned into a week long event that the network, staff and management go all out for.

The ‘Puma Energy Starlight Week’ annual fundraising appeal not only raises money to support sick kids but it’s perfectly aligned to their objective to provide exceptional customer service and make a real difference to the communities in which they operate.

Their 260 retail sites are decorated in purple and yellow; their staff dress up and their office-based employees volunteer their time to drive donations for Starlight.  Additionally, Puma Energy’s retail team signs a Cause Related Marketing agreement to contribute 1 cent from every litre of fuel sold on Starlight Day with the total then matched by a donation from the Puma Energy Commercial team.

Alan Plews, General Manager Retail at Puma Energy Australia said: “It was great to see the passion and enthusiasm amongst our Retail Teams during Starlight Week in May. Our Retail teams and customers look forward to Starlight Week each year and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve!”

Additionally, the Puma Energy Australia team raises funds through team fundraisers, collections throughout their retail network, participating in Starlight signature events and corporate donations from the global Puma Energy Foundation.

In thanking the staff and community for getting behind the program, Mr Plews also highlights that the Starlight merchandise and direct donation containers are still available instore and the fundraising continues throughout the year and that if you missed out on donating for Starlight Day, you can donate at https://www.starlightday.org.au/ and donations received by Midnight AEST on 14/5/2021 will be matched by Starlights Partners.
