A large service centre and truck stop in Toowoomba’s western suburbs has hit the market through an expressions of interest campaign.

Agency Cushman and Wakefield list the Ampol site on the Warrego Highway at Charlton for sale this week.

The one-hectare parcel of land is being sold as a tenanted investment, with Ampol and Red Rooster both leased for another 10 years.

The centre is not far from the turn-off to the Toowoomba Bypass and located near the growing business parks at Wellcamp.

Agent Tom Moreland said the service centre was only five years old and met modern requirements for large trucks to use it.

“The modern travel centre and truck stop (was) built in 2016 improved by drive through, heavy vehicle and hi-flow diesel refuelling points and truck parking facilities,” he wrote in the online listing.

“Fully signalised highway corner position set on 1.14 hectares with over 243m of frontage and exposed to high traffic volumes

“The travel centre set to be upgraded to latest ‘Ampol and Foodary’ branding at full cost of the tenant.”

The expressions of interest period ends on July 29.
