Evie Networks, one of Australia’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging networks, has opened its newest ultra-fast charging site in Coomera, close by to Dreamworld theme park, Australia’s biggest theme park.
Announced on the Evie Networks Facebook Page, the new ultra-fast charging site is located at the Shell Coles Express truck stop in Coomera and adjacent to the Pacific Motorway.
Given that there are actually three Shell Coles Express sites in Coomera near to the Pacific Motorway, The Driven was able to confirm that it is in fact the Shell Coles Express on the Old Pacific Highway, just near the Coomera Overpass.
Located just down the road from Dreamworld, the new ultra-fast charging site is perfectly located for commuters and tourists travelling along the Pacific Motorway – which, according to Evie Networks, will see approximately 163,000 vehicles passing each day.
According to Evie Networks, “This site is the first of many to be established on the glitter strip!” Evie CEO Chris Mills added that, “for us, this is about planning ahead to help the Gold Coast become an electrically charged city.”
Developed in partnership with Viva Energy Australia – which owns the Geelong Oil Refinery and provides fuel to the Coles Express retail network – the new Evie ultra-fast charging site has two EV charging spaces and joins a growing network of EV chargers located around the country.
vie Networks’ boast that their chargers offer both 50kW DC fast charging and 350kW DC ultra-fast charging, but some chargers also offer 22kW AC charging on top.
