A woman who was allegedly carrying a large amount of drugs in her car was busted at a petrol station by police conducting Covid patrols in the Bass Coast.

Senior Sergeant Peter Watson said police spotted a vehicle with stolen number plates driving into the Caltex service station in Bass on Bass Highway and Soldiers Rd on May 6.

The Lang Lang driver was pulled over by police and her car was searched.

Police found 28 grams of ice in a sealed plastic bag hiding in the bonnet of her car.

Sen-Sgt Watson said Southern Metropolitan police arrested the 37-year-old woman and seized the “significant” amount of drugs.

She was charged with drug offences and remanded in custody.
