More than $100 million is being invested in a previously rundown bayside suburb with a new proposal set to add to the rejuvenation. SEE THE PLANS

The major revamp of a previously rundown bayside suburb is set to continue after a development application was submitted for a new service station and fast food precinct on a popular main road.

A redesign of initial plans for a service station, veterinary store and an agricultural supplies store which was approved in 2018, the new application from Saunders Havill Group was submitted to the Brisbane City Council last week.

The service station will include four fuel dispensers as well as 13 car parks while the second stage, a fast food outlet, will include alfresco dining along with 63 shared car parks with the third building, which will be another fast food outlet.

The proposal also means the current house at the site will be demolished with the lake at the location to be filled in to make way for the development.

Continuing the more than $100 million of investment in development in Wynnum West, the application builds on recent projects to be approved and started in the area, such as the giant townhouse community in Arbor Park as well as the redevelopment of the Wynnum Plaza from property giants Shayher Properties.

It also comes after a 32-house project on Kianawah Rd, Wynnum West started last month.
