Green Murder author Ian Plimer says Elon Musk is “very correct” to say hydrogen is “mind-bogglingly stupid” as a source of fuel.
“It is mind-bogglingly stupid because we need nine litres of water and we electrocute those nine litres of water and produce a kilogram of hydrogen,” Mr Plimer told Sky News host Rowan Dean.
“Now we are a country where there’s not much water and if we use slightly saline water the process doesn’t work.
“It’s been tried before and it didn’t work because it was far too expensive, it was far too difficult to handle and we have far better alternatives.”
