A Tinana service station has been robbed at knifepoint, with police appealing for public information to track down the man involved.

The robbery happened about 9.43pm on Friday, November 12, at the United Service Station on Gympie Road.

The man entered the business armed with knives before jumping over a counter and threatening a male employee, police said.

The man stole cash and cigarettes before leaving in a silver coloured Holden Commodore.

There were no physical injuries inflicted during the incident.

The same vehicle was later spotted on the Bruce Highway, but the driver evaded police.
