A man is facing criminal charged after he allegedly walked into a service station in the Monaro region and allegedly injuring and robbed the employee.

A 29-year-old employee was working his shift about 7.30pm on Tuesday when the 34-year-old man armed with a large stick entered a service station on Uriarra Rd, Queanbeyan.

He allegedly walked behind the counter and started threatening the employee to give him cash.

The man allegedly struck the staff member with his large stick and fled the station with stolen cash.

The employee suffered minor injuries.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District attended the service station and established a crime scene.

Police searched an address on Carinya St, Queanbeyan about 11.40am the next day and arrested the 29-year-old.

Clothing and cash were also seized as part of the investigation.
