A former Childers caravan park will be transformed into a new service station and food outlet after a development application was approved by council.
Councillors voted on the development application at Tuesday’s council meeting where it passed unanimously.
The material change of use application for a new service station and food outlet was lodged with council in April with the development to be built on the Bruce Highway.
United Petroleum and a Pie Face food outlet will move in.
“The service station has separate truck and car refuelling forecourts. The retail shop has a total GFA of 235 sqm,” the application says.
“The prospective tenant is United petroleum, who have purchased the Pie face brand whose products are now featured in their service station retail stores ….
“To increase convenience for customers the development proposes a drive through facility for sale of the Pie face products.”
Bundaberg Regional Council CEO Steve Johnston told councillors the new service station would have four petrol bowsers and 10 parking spaces.
