South Australians who are members of the Royal Automobile Association are now able to access 4cpl discounts on petrol or diesel fuels at EG and Caltex Woolworths stores, following the announcement of the partnership program between EG Australian and the RAA.

The partnership between EG Australia, who operate the network of EG branded and Caltex Woolworths branded sites, delivers the discounts on presentation of an RAA membership card, including the digital membership cards, and does not require the purchase of any instore items to access.

The discount is available on one purchase per day up to 150 litres at any of the 36 EG and Caltex Woolworths branded sites across South Australia (and Broken Hill).

RAA members will be able to locate the EG Australia sites on the interactive, real time fuel pricing map included in the myRAA app.

In discussing the partnership RAA Managing Director Ian Stone noted that the partnership is another way that RAA membership delivers savings to members and that he is excited to see this extend to the fuel bowser.

“Our members are already saving around $30 each month through the real-time fuel pricing feature on our myRAA app, so we’re pleased to be offering yet another opportunity for members to save on fuel costs” noted Mr Stone.

EG Australia’s Poh Lee explained that the discount partnership is a departure from the standard construction of such discount systems,  “We’re already known as great value fuel providers, and this offer really adds to that.  We’re excited to bring such a great value discount offer to RAA members.  Fuel discounts have traditionally been linked to the need to make a separate purchase.  RAA has a huge membership base so this means a big cross section of the State and Broken Hill will have the opportunity to take up our discount offer by simply being an RAA member.  It’s as simple as scanning either your digital or physical RAA membership cards at the bowser to receive”.

The partnership represents an estimated $70M a year in potential saving to the RAA members.

“There are over 780,000 members and if each member filled once a week that’s over $70M in fuel savings a year, across all members,” explains Poh Lee.

“The discount will be running for the busy Easter holiday period, giving RAA members great value school holiday and Easter travel fuel. The Easter school holidays are known for their mild weather and are a peak camping and travelling period.  A lot of South Australians will be hitting the road for holidays, and we’re pleased to be able to give them extra money in their pockets for holidays via our fuel discounts.  It’s been a hard year for so many, so any savings are welcome,” continued Poh Lee.

The partnership will be supported by extensive advertising and promotion including targeted member communications and a dedicated radio campaign.
