A man carrying an axe threatened staff at Woodville South service station during a robbery last night.

The man stole cash and was seen running across Findon Road into Patricia Street with another person.

Police were called to Woodville Road after 10:50pm after a holdup alarm was activated.

Nobody was harmed during the incident.

Western District Detectives are investigating possible links between this robbery and another at Woodville Park early Friday morning.

Police are investigating the robbery at Woodville South service station.

Meanwhile, a man attempted robbery at a service station at Hilton on Sir Donald Bradman Drive, just after 6am this morning.

The man demanded cash and fled empty-handed toward South Road when another employee entered the store.

The suspect did not appear to be armed.

Nobody was harmed during the incident.

Police do not believe the attempted robbery is linked to the robberies at Woodville Park and Woodville South.
