A woman has been arrested as another woman fights for life following an attack, which involved hot coffee being poured on the victim at a Melbourne 7-Eleven store.
Police and emergency services were called to the service station on Hawthorn Road in Caulfield following reports of an assault about 10.15am.
Investigators have been told a woman poured coffee over the victim and then assaulted her before fleeing the scene.
A 52-year-old woman has been taken to The Alfred hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police confirmed at 4pm they have arrested a woman in relation to the assault.
She is assisting police with their investigation.
