Mystery surrounds a suspected carjacking attempt, someone being hit by a car, and ‘large fight’ at a Townsville servo on Sunday morning.

TOWNSVILLE Police will examine CCTV footage to piece together what happened during a suspected carjacking attempt in Cranbrook on Sunday morning.

Police crews converged on a Ross River Rd service station after an attempted carjacking at about 10.10am.

Initial reports suggested that there was an altercation involving a number of people and a vehicle was allegedly used to try and run over two teens – with one of them struck.

Everyone involved in the incident fled the scene by the time police arrived five minutes later.

An eye witness described seeing a “large fight” take place.

Police are hoping the CCTV footage will shed light on what transpired.

No suspects are in custody and investigations are continuing.
