In news that cash-strapped households will welcome, Coles Express customers will now be able to save up to an additional 22 cents per litre on their fuel every time they fill their tanks.

This means on an average full tank fill up of 60 litres, motorists will be able top save an additional $13 off their fuel on top of the eventual $13 savings in fuel excise.

Shoppers who spend $20 or more in Coles Express convenience stores will get an increase in their discount from 10 cents to 14 cents per litre until May 25.

When combined with a Coles supermarket shopper docket deal of 4 cents per litre, the discount is 18 cents per litre.

Footy fans will be able to get an even bigger discount on their fuel by downloading the popular AFL LIVE App3 for free.

Coles Express Executive General Manager Michael Courtney said that with increased cost-of-living pressures facing Australians, the company wants to do everything it can to provide great value to customers.

“We have a great partnership with Viva Energy and by working together, we have come up with a really compelling way for our customers to save more at the bowser, at a time they need it most,” Mr Courtney said.

“We want to get the message out there that it’s very easy to take advantage of this offer. Coles

Express has an incredible range of essential items like toilet paper, milk, bread, gas bottles, firewood, ice and convenience meals at great prices. The $20 instore spend to qualify for the 14 cents per litre discount on fuel can be easily achieved with a grocery top up when you’ve run out or forgotten to pick up the essentials or in a convenient pit-stop when you’re hungry and thirsty on the road.

“When all the deals are stacked up, customers can save a massive 22 cents off per litre.”

Executive General Manager Consumer at Viva Energy Megan Foster said Viva Energy was proud to be working with Coles to help lower the cost of living.

“Along with these amazing offers from Coles, this morning we also took the decision last week to immediately drop prices at Coles Express service stations by 10 cents per litre. This recognises that motorists have been doing it tough with high pump prices which have been driven by rapid and volatile rises in the oil price,” Ms Foster said.

“Viva Energy is committed to passing on the full 22.1cpl excise adjustment as soon as possible and as we replenish fuel stocks in the network.

“With Shell V-Power now an Official Fuel Partner of the AFL, we are delighted to have created the 4 cents per litre discount for fans who download the AFL LIVE App and activate the fuel discount offer. This great new offer expands on the existing partnerships we have with Transurban (Linkt), carsales and GDay Parks which all give customers access to an ongoing 4 cents per litre discount.

“Combined with the 18 cents per litre offering from Coles and Coles Express, customers can now save a massive 22 cents per litre off their fuel every time they fill up over and above the reductions in excise that will flow through.”
