Sky News host Rowan Dean says Climate Change and Energy Minister believes electric vehicles are the future and the telegraph pole charging stations he promoted will be handy when petrol cars are banned.
“Bans … the SUV you take the kids on holiday in, bans the ute you go to work in and all the other millions of petrol or diesel cars we all rely upon,” he said.
“And Chris Bowen forces instead to buy electric vehicles, which most of us will simply not be able to afford – certainly not at current prices.
“Then there’s the whole question of how the grid will cope as everyone gets home at dinner time – electricity peak hour as we know – and plugs in their car for the night.”
