Staff at a Darwin service station were allegedly threatened by young people carrying an axe, knife and baseball bat.
About 9pm on Saturday, police were called to the petrol station in Coconut Grove after a report of three boys allegedly entering the premises with their faces covered and weapons in hand.
“Once inside, the youths stole food and drinks and when approached by the staff member, they threatened to cause him harm before leaving the area with the stolen items,” Northern Watch Commander Sonia Kennon said.
“The three youths were arrested shortly afterwards, still carrying their weapons and stolen items.”
The three boys, two aged 12 and the other 15, were each charged with one count of aggravated robbery and one count of going armed in public.
They were remanded to appear in court on Monday.
“This is incredibly concerning behaviour that has no place within our community,” Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Bland said.
“Strike Force Trident would urge anyone who witnesses this sort of violent behaviour to immediately call triple-0.”
