Shocking footage has emerged of the moment a man used a knife to threaten a service station worker during an attempted armed robbery in Townsville.
Initial investigations indicate a man wearing a face covering and gloves entered a service station on Nathan St, Aitkenvale at 9.30pm.
The man was captured on CCTV as he approached a staff member and demanded money, threatening him with a knife before leaving on foot.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, 20-years-old with an athletic build.
Nothing was taken from the store and no one was physically injured.
Police would like to speak to the drivers of a red SUV and a white Holden Commodore sedan that were parked at the service station at the time.
Other witnesses, including two people who were inside the service station shortly prior to the incident, are also urged to contact police.
