Sky News host Paul Murray says while inflation sits around five per cent there are things in the country which are “way higher than ten”, namely, petrol prices.

“If we go on the monthly numbers … while the average for overall inflation in the country is five and a bit per cent there are lots of different things in the economy that are counted as part of inflation,” Mr Murray said.

“That are way higher than five, way higher than ten.

“Chief amongst them, petrol.

“I constantly talk about the need for this government to cut fuel taxes by 25 cents.”
