For two decades, Everton Park Service Station has functioned as a cornerstone to our community, offering not just fuel, but a commitment to exceptional service. Owners Desley and Les are beyond honoured to accept the credit for their station’s success.

Desley and Les’s involvement in the service station industry began long before the inception of Everton Park Service Station. Their career kicked off in 1994 at Matilda Service Station, located at 725 Albany Creek Road, where they honed their skills and cultivated a passion for providing top-notch customer service. However, in 2004, their path took a new turn when they seized the opportunity to purchase the freehold from Matilda Fuel Supplies, marking the birth of Everton Park Service Station.

Initially branded as Flagstar, the station soon transitioned back to its roots as a Matilda service station. Over the years, the station changed hands as Matilda was acquired by Newman Petroleum, then Puma Energy, and finally Chevron, before being rebranded as Ampol.

With each change in ownership came a commitment to modernisation. Recognizing the need to keep pace with evolving standards, Desley and Les undertook significant renovations to keep the service station up to date. The transformation culminated in the rebranding to Caltex, a move that has been well-received by the community.

Beyond fuel, Everton Park Service Station has evolved into a multifaceted hub, offering a range of services to meet the diverse needs of its customers. Being car enthusiasts, Desley and Les found many ways to embed their passion into the business; the station transitioned from a quick pick-up-and-go food bar to a comprehensive car servicing and repair centre, complete with logbook servicing for new cars. Desley and Les’ vision of a mini dealership service centre, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, is now automotive heaven for customers!

But Everton Park Service Station is more than just transactional business; it stands as testament to Desley and Les’s deep-rooted connection to the community they call home. Having bought their first home in Everton Park in 1976, they have been active members of the local fabric for decades. Their two grown children, who attended school in the area, have also played integral roles in the family business.

After 20 years of ownership at Everton Park and 30 years at their Albany Creek workshop, Hanos Car Care, Desley and Les’s passion for what they do still shines through in every aspect of their business.

‘It’s always been our passion to provide the best customer service along with the best possible product at an affordable price. We both love being involved with the every-day running of the business,’ Les shares with Echo News.

Looking ahead, Desley and Les have no plans of slowing down. With a deep-seated passion for the industry and a commitment to excellence, they are poised to continue serving their labour of love to locals for years to come.

Les ends on a touching note, ‘We would like to thank all the community for all their ongoing support, along with all our valuable staff. We couldn’t have done it without you.’

Cheers to 20 years, Everton Park Service Station!
