Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen says the switch to electric vehicles is “increasing exponentially”.

Australia is on track to double the number of electric vehicle charging stations over the next year, with nearly 100 new fast-charging sites already added to the network since the start of 2024.

Mr Bowen told Sky News Australia that the government needs to make sure to “keep up” with the growth.

“We are rolling out the charging.

“Federal government, state governments, some local councils and private sectors working together to ensure that we increase the number of chargers available.”
