Police are on the hunt for a white SUV they believe may be linked to a violent armed robbery at one Mid-North Coast servo and a break and enter at another.

A terrorised employee was threatened at knifepoint after five intruders broke and entered into a Port Macquarie service station, NSW Police said in a statement.

The group took cigarettes and cash before making off in a white SUV.

Mid-North Coast Police were told the group of five entered the store and threatened the employee with a knife in the early morning theft, just before 3am on Wednesday.

Shortly afterwards police attended a Barnard St, Gladstone, service station near Kempsey, following reports of a break and enter.

Police were told a group forced entry before leaving with items in a white SUV.

Police are investigating possible links between the two robberies as they begin their investigation.

They urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
