• Rockcheck New Energy has delivered 65 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks to logistics operators in Tianjin, reinforcing zero-emission freight activity across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei megaregion.
  • The vehicles will support port logistics and industrial transport, underlining China’s focus on scaling hydrogen trucking through regional supply chains and infrastructure.

China is continuing to thicken its ranks of hydrogen-powered heavy goods vehicles, with Rockcheck New Energy completing a bulk delivery of fuel-cell trucks into active service. On December 22, the company held two consecutive handover ceremonies in Tianjin, delivering a total of 65 hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks to logistics operators working across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, one of the country’s most strategically important freight corridors.

Thirty of the trucks were delivered to Tianjin HanDe Logistics, where they will be used to transport equipment and materials for CNOOC across Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong. The remaining 35 units were handed over to Tianjin Development Zone Xintianli Trading Company, and will be deployed for container collection and port freight movements linked to the Port of Tianjin, a critical hub in northern China’s logistics network.

The trucks themselves were manufactured by Farizon Commercial Vehicle, with a configuration designed to maximise regional industrial integration. Each vehicle is equipped with a 200kW hydrogen fuel cell system from Rockcheck Hydrogen Power, a Type IV hydrogen storage system supplied by Tianhai, and an MGL power battery. According to the company, this approach ensures that core components are sourced locally within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region while being closely matched to real-world heavy-duty transport use cases.

Rockcheck New Energy positions itself as an integrated hydrogen solutions provider, with activities spanning hydrogen production, storage, transport, refuelling, application, research and equipment manufacturing. To date, the group says it has placed 1,215 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles into operation, operates 15 hydrogen refuelling stations, and has supported the cumulative use of around 5,700 tonnes of hydrogen. Those vehicles have collectively travelled 59.5 million kilometres, delivering an estimated reduction of 56,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
