A 22-year-old roadhouse worker has been charged in relation to a serious crash near Stuarts Well last week.
Jaidyn Mazzone from Kadina, South Australia allegedly collided with a vehicle carrying two passengers after they failed to pay for fuel at the Stuart Wells Roadhouse, which is owned by his father.
The incident occurred on January 21, when a grey Mazda allegedly filled up at the roadhouse and didn’t pay for their fuel.
Mazzone is believed to have chased the pair down.
According to a report by the Northern Territory Police, “His Toyota Hilux has allegedly collided with the right rear passenger side door of the Mazda, causing it to lose control and crash.”
The 37-year-old male driver of the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment. His 38-year-old female passenger also received injuries and was taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.
Mazzone remains in police custody and has been charged with driving a vehicle in a dangerous manner, driving a motor vehicle causing death or serious harm and two counts of recklessly endangering serious harm.
He was remanded to appear at Alice Springs Local Court on Friday January 23, with the matter to return to court at a later date.
