A beloved Aussie snack brand is set to introduce a new edition sure to excite diehard salt and vinegar fanatics.
Cheezels will once again expand beyond its traditional cheese roots with a flavour that packs a delicious punch.
It might sound odd to exclude cheese from the recipe, but a new salt and vinegar option is sending the internet into salivating mode before even hitting store shelves.
Packets will be found at 7-Eleven stores from June 3rd, for the entirety of the month, for $5.
“We’re really proud to collaborate with our suppliers to bring new, exciting products to our customers and deliver great food products and experiences,” a 7-Eleven spokesperson told news.com.au.
We want to continue to innovate, bringing customers exclusive “try it here first” ranges that they connect with and genuinely love. It’s what we’re all about.”
While the packets will remain exclusively in the convenience stores for June, they’ll be stocked in Coles once the month is through.
Food influencer, nectoriouspapi, was sent a packet to trial, and he believes salt and vinegar fanatics won’t be disappointed.
He told news.com.au that the chips were “so so strong” that it made him cough, “which is good when it comes to this flavour.”
Taking to social media, he tucked into a packet telling followers upon opening the packet the smell “smacks you in the face like salt and vinegar should.”
“Very salty, but that vinegar taste is so strong in the best, best way,” he said.
The comment section was quick to share their excitement.
“This made me salivate,” one person admitted.
“My tongue is already tingling from the amount of vinegar I’m going to consume,” another said.
“My mouth is watering,” a third wrote.
Others questioned the process.
“OK, so my question, probably stupid, but they don’t have a cheese background flavour, do they?” one questioned
“Nothing beats chicken, nothing,” another loyally declared.
Another asked for a comparison: “Like Samboy chips strong?” to which the creator confirmed with a “yep”
Fellow food influencer, Russ Eats, also trialled the “gorgeous” new snack sharing his thoughts to social media.
He noted that as soon as you open the packet it’s an “instant salt and vinegar hit clear in the f**king nostrils” which he considers a good sign.
He granted them a 9/10, deducting a point because some of the chips he encountered after the first few weren’t as flavour packed.
It’s not the first time the loved snack has introduced a special edition into the mix with chilli cheese, cheese and bacon and pizza all loved by fans too.
However, the most successful was the Chicken Cheezels released in 2024, with nectoriouspapi believing the new flavour would be just as loved.
“Welcome to the family, salt and vinegar cheezels. Now we’ve got cheese, chicken and these babies. Mix them all up and enjoy,” he said
He trialled the chicken flavour when it was released, but at the time, many weren’t prepared to branch out, believing traditional cheese was as perfect as it could get.
“Guys, these taste great … Definitely check them out,” he said at the time.
