Victorian Transport Association members will receive new fuel discounts under a partnership with Viva Energy Australia, as operators continue to face high fuel costs and prepare for the return of the full fuel excise from 1 July.
The offer will provide VTA members who sign up for a Shell Card with a 10.5 cents per litre discount on diesel for the first 12 months, along with no ongoing card fees.
Discounts of six cents per litre on petrol and five cents per litre on AdBlue will also be available under the arrangement.
Existing Shell Card members will also be eligible for the higher discount.
Why fuel cost relief matters for transport operators
Fuel remains one of the largest operating costs for road transport businesses and has become more volatile following global supply pressures linked to conflict in the Middle East.
The VTA said the offer is designed to deliver practical savings to members operating in a difficult cost environment.
VTA CEO Peter Anderson said the partnership reflects the association’s focus on tangible support.
“Fuel remains one of the largest and most volatile costs for transport operators,” Anderson said.
“This partnership with Viva Energy provides meaningful, real-world savings that will help our members manage their bottom line and maintain operational efficiency.”
What does the Shell Card offer include?
The Shell Card program gives operators access to more than 1,600 service stations across Australia, including more than 500 truck-friendly sites.
The card also provides route planning tools and an online account management portal, helping businesses monitor fuel usage and expenditure.
Viva Energy Australia National Sales Manager, CRT Shell Card, Ricky Webb said the company wanted to support transport businesses with practical tools as well as fuel discounts.

Timing aligns with fuel excise pressure
The offer comes as diesel prices are expected to rise following the scheduled return of the full fuel excise from 1 July.
Anderson said the VTA had continued to advocate for regulatory and legislative changes to limit cost increases where possible, while also pursuing practical initiatives for members.
