Surveillance footage released by the Baltimore Police Department in Maryland shows the suspects, who were all wearing hoodies, knocking the man to the ground multiple times and throwing objects at him, reports the New York Post.
At one point during the video, one of the boys appears to point an assault rifle at the victim, while another brandishes a sword.
The violent attempted robbery happened in the city’s Northern District just before 4am on July 7.
Police released the scary video on Facebook saying detectives needed the public’s help in identifying the six individuals seen in the video.
Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott recently announced a reported drop in violent crime, noting 50 homicides so far in 2026.
“This total represents the fewest homicides ever recorded in Baltimore through the first six months of a calendar year,” the announcement reported.
“Compared to this date last year, Baltimore has seen a 23.1 per cent decrease in homicides and a 2.5 per cent decrease in non-fatal shootings.”
