With the decline of COVID-19 cases has come a gradual opening up of businesses and services in Metropolitan Melbourne. After initially being open with cleaning restrictions, and then being required to close, some car washes are now able to be open in Melbourne.

The advice from the Victorian Government outlines that some car washes can now open, provided that they meet all of the following criteria;

  • The car was is automatic, and
  • The car wash is part of a fuel retail business, and
  • The car wash does not require the driver to leave their vehicle.

Provided these conditions are met, the car wash can be open.

ACAPMA also reminds Members that the car wash should also be subject to the hieghtened cleaning and sanitising tasks, particularly if there is a keypad activation element to the car wash
