From Monday 18 January 2021 the cap on the capacity in private office space in Melbourne will life from the current 25% to 50%, alowing Melbourne to ‘get back to work’. The lifting of the cap is coming a week later than planned, but is also coenciding with a change to the mask requriements.

Mask rules will return to the pre Christmas requirements. This means that masks are required on public transport, in commercial vehicles (uber etc), on domestic flights and in the airports, in shopping centres and other large retail locations (bunnings etc).

From Monday 18 January 2021 masks will not be required in offices, though there is a strong encouragement to continue to voluntarily wear masks and to ensure masks are worn if physical distancing cannot be achieved.
