SafeWork NSW has highlighted the psychological supports available to any employers and workers affected by the Bondi Beach terrorist attack on Sunday.

“Experiencing and witnessing a traumatic event can be overwhelming, and support is available for businesses and their workers,” SafeWork said today.

These supports  include confidential one-on-one sessions with psychological health and safety experts, and training to give workers and managers the practical knowledge and skills to support their own mental health and look out for their colleagues.

The programs are free for businesses with fewer than 200 employees, and non-profits.

SafeWork also reminded employers of its traumatic event management plan, which is designed to help workplaces respond to events like acts of violence by creating a supportive environment, encourage open conversations, and connect workers with professional help where required.

SafeWork noted the State Government’s new Bondi-Beach-attack webpage includes links to available supports, and a condolence book.
