This year’s ACAPMA Conference (previously known as Asia Pacific Fuel Industry Forum – APFIF) promises to deliver another high-impact program that brings together Australia’s fuel and convenience leaders, technical experts, suppliers, and stakeholders for three days of strategic discussion, professional development, and invaluable networking.
With a focus on delivering practical insights and future-facing strategies the 2026 Conference coincides with ACAPMA celebrating 50 years of supporting the fuel industry of Australia.
To celebrate this milestone, the Conference is heading back to our ancestral home of Melbourne with a special program focused on the partnerships that have shaped the past of the industry, and the ones that will shape the future.
Comprising industry leaders and subject matter experts, the agenda will deliver a knowledge dividend, balanced with the opportunities to network in the Expo Area, the space that will host all the breaks, lunches and networking drinks.
The social, networking and recognition events will again be a feature of the event, including the coveted ACAPMA Fuel & Convenience Awards presented at the Gala Dinner.
2026 will also see two separately ticketed events, the first Women in Fuel luncheon along with a dedicated Regulator Forum where regulators including National Measurement Institute, SafeWork, Environment Protection Authority, Fair Work Ombudsman, ACCC, Country Fire Authority, Fire Rescue Victoria, and Victoria Police will outline their issues and priorities for the year.
Following these opening events, delegates will be invited to Registration and Welcome Drinks in the Expo Hall before a short walk to the AMPOL Social Dinner at the Lakeside Pavillion where the industry will come together in a relaxed lakeside setting.
On Tuesday 8 September, the Plenary Sessions commence with the Keynote Breakfast 1 where delegates will come together for a plated breakfast and keynote presentation from an industry titan on the interesting history of ACAPMA and the industry more broadly.
After a break in the Expo the Future Opportunities and Risks and Threats Session will challenge delegates to think big with an engaging presentation on the future of technology in the fuel industry. Delegates will then be graphically reminded that technology can also be a major threat to success as these threats are explored in a truly eye-opening ‘live hack’ demonstration.
After an extended lunch in the Expo the Policy Panel will bring together public policy experts to provide delegates with insights on navigating the policy imperatives facing the industry.
The day will round out with a Keynote Conversation Plenary session for the day with a keynote from one of the giants of the transport industry in Australia.
The Tuesday wraps up with Drinks in the Expo from 4pm – 6pm before delegates can have dinner at their own leisure.
On Wednesday 9 September, the Plenary Sessions continue with the Keynote Breakfast 2 where delegates will again come together for a plated breakfast and a keynote from an international political and reputation management leader who will share perceptions of the fuel industry in the UK and Europe and apply those learnings to the local context.
After a break in the Expo the Perspectives Session will provide delegates with unique viewpoints from external experts, including from a leading journalist and economist.
After an extended lunch in the Expo the Retail Focus Session brings together retail leaders to address the opportunities and challenges facing this dynamic segment of the industry. This session will also include the presentation of the latest in the ACAPMA Consumer Attitudes Report series.
The day will finish on a high with a must see Keynote Conversation Plenary Session with former Premier of Victoria, The Hon Jeff Kennett.
The day concludes later that evening with the 50 Years of ACAPMA Awards and Gala Dinner at the Plaza Ballroom. This black tie event will also feature the ACAPMA Fuel and Convenience Awards for Retailer of the Year, Distributor of the Year, Supplier of the Year and the coveted Marg Taylor Memorial Award for Community Spirit.
The ACAPMA Fuel and Convenience Awards are self-nominated by completing an application form that demonstrates the applicant’s excellence in the key areas of compliance, health and safety, innovation and sustainability.
The Awards are independently judged and awarded by a panel of expert judges that are 100% external to the industry. This arm’s length process that ensures awards based on the merits of the applications without any industry bias.
