ElaFlex has been designing, manufacturing and supplying refuelling equipment globally for over 100 years.  This industry leader is the focus of this weeks ACAPMA Partner Highlight.

Our Legacy and Reputation

For more than a century, the Elaflex Group has quietly shaped the way fuel moves safely and efficiently around the world. Founded in Germany over 100 years ago, the company built its reputation on a simple but powerful principle: engineer products properly, manufacture them in-house, and never compromise on quality. Today, that philosophy continues to underpin Elaflex’s position as one of the most trusted names in refuelling equipment globally, including here in Australia.

From its early beginnings supplying high-quality hose assemblies, Elaflex grew alongside the rapid expansion of automotive and aviation fuelling. German engineering precision became a defining characteristic of the brand. Elaflex has long maintained in-house design, production, testing and manufacturing capabilities. This vertical integration allows continuous product refinement, strict quality control, and rapid adaptation to evolving fuel grades and standards.

Forecourt operators and fuel infrastructure owners rely on equipment that performs consistently in harsh environments. Elaflex hoses, breakaways, nozzles and fittings are known not just for durability, but for being intuitive and user-friendly. Reduced maintenance issues, ergonomic design and long service life translate directly into lower operational risk and improved customer experience. This is why Elaflex is seen on a vast majority of service stations throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Rigorous testing and a focus on lifecycle performance have helped Elaflex products maintain a strong global reputation across retail forecourts, terminals and aviation sites. In an industry where failure can lead to significant environmental impacts, as well as fines and financial losses, reliability is everything.

Environmental Focus – Leak Prevention

That commitment to continuous improvement and a focus on the environment is also evident in Elaflex’s strategic growth. The strategic acquisition of SGB GmbH, a Germany-based specialist in leak prevention technologies, has significantly enhanced the Group’s capabilities in advanced environmental protection systems. Building on this momentum, Elaflex Pacific has established a collaboration with Brugg Industrial Pipes, another German manufacturer renowned for its high-performance double-walled flexible piping solutions.

This integration of Brugg double walled piping with SGB GmbH monitoring technology represents a shift toward fully integrated, proactive leak prevention systems rather than traditional reactive detection-only systems currently used. The combined solution aligns with evolving European best practices, particularly within the underground petroleum storage systems (UPSS) sector, where compliance with the EN 13160 standard imposes more stringent requirements for spill containment and system integrity than those currently mandated in the Australian regulatory framework.

By bringing SGB’s expertise into the portfolio, and partnering with Brugg Industrial Pipes, Elaflex expanded beyond traditional dispensing components into comprehensive monitoring and safety solutions – a move that reflects the modern forecourt’s increasing regulatory and environmental responsibilities.

Future Focus for the ever-changing Mobility landscape

In Australia, Elaflex’s globally recognised product range of refuelling equipment is delivered locally through Elaflex Pacific, who plays a critical role in aligning international best practice with local compliance frameworks.

The modern fuel station is no longer just a pump and a canopy. It is a complex, regulated, technology-driven environment where safety, sustainability and customer experience intersect. Elaflex Pacifc, via its group companies and partnerships, is able to provide refuelling equipment and infrastructure to meet all mobility needs:

  • Elaflex Germany: Traditional fuels (Petrol, diesel, {AdBlue}, biofuels etc.) and LNG
  • Elaflex Pacific: LPGas, DME
  • Oasis Engineering: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Gaseous Hydrogen
  • Brugg Pipes + SGB: Double walled pipes and leak detection
  • MannTek: Ammonia, Methanol and Liquified Hydrogen
  • Alvern: Nozzle advertising
  • Brugg eConnect: EV charging Plugs and Cables.

Elaflex’s century-long heritage, commitment to in-house manufacturing excellence, and forward-looking partnerships position the Group as more than a component supplier — it is a long-term infrastructure partner.

From German engineering roots to advanced Australian forecourt solutions, Elaflex continues to demonstrate that reliability, innovation and quality are not trends, but enduring commitments.
