EV-NRG Brings i-charging’s Groundbreaking i-light MCS to Australia for the First Time at Everything Electric, Melbourne Showgrounds – Stand K20, 14th to 16th November 2025 .

EV-NRG, an Australian company dedicated to advancing renewable energy, cutting-edge technology, and the future of mobility, is proud to announce the first public display of the i-light MCS (MegaWatt Charging System) at Everything Electric – Melbourne.

EV-NRG is the exclusive Australian distribution partner for i-charging, a company globally recognised for its innovation and leadership in EV charging technology. i-charging was recently ranked by Deloitte as the Fastest Growing Technology Company in the EMEA region and acknowledged by ABI Research as a market leader in commercial EV charging solutions.

Together, EV-NRG and i-charging are redefining what’s possible in the world of heavy-duty electric vehicle charging.

Revolutionising Heavy-Duty Charging

The i-light MCS represents a bold step forward in electric mobility infrastructure — combining intelligent design, exceptional efficiency, and cutting-edge software to deliver a truly next-generation charging experience.

Developed to meet the demanding needs of commercial and fleet operators, i-light is engineered for performance and scalability. With an output capacity of up to 1.5 megawatts, configurable in 250 kW increments, the system allows operators to tailor charging capacity precisely to their operational requirements.

Unmatched Flexibility and Power

i-light offers both MCS (MegaWatt Charging System) and CCS (Combined Charging System) options, giving fleet owners the flexibility to support multiple vehicle types within a single installation.

The system’s intelligent design enables simultaneous charging of up to six vehicles — delivering power efficiently and reliably without compromising performance. This level of flexibility and scalability ensures that operators can future-proof their infrastructure as fleet demands evolve.

Smart Design Meets Practical Innovation

Beyond raw performance, i-light distinguishes itself with a thoughtful user-centric design. It is the world’s first EV charger to feature a 37-inch glass display, visible directly from a truck driver’s seat, allowing effortless monitoring of charging progress.

This combination of industrial-grade engineering and ergonomic design sets a new benchmark for usability and efficiency in commercial EV charging.

Built for Efficiency and Reliability

Every component of i-light is optimised for energy efficiency and operational reliability. Featuring SiC-based (Silicon Carbide) power electronics, the system achieves efficiency levels exceeding 99%, ensuring that maximum energy is transferred to the vehicle with minimal loss.

Technical highlights include:

  • Output Voltage: 1250 V
  • Output Standards: Single output with MCS or CCS
  • Output Current:
    • MCS – 1500 A (liquid-cooled) / 350 A (non-cooled)
    • CCS – 500 A (liquid-cooled) / 350 A (non-cooled)
  • Cable Length: 3 m (longer lengths available)
  • Efficiency: >99% SiC-based

Powering the Future of Clean Transport

As Australia accelerates toward a cleaner, more sustainable transport future, the introduction of i-charging’s i-light MCS marks a major milestone in enabling the electrification of heavy-duty transport and logistics sectors.

“EV-NRG is committed to bringing the world’s most advanced and reliable charging technology to the Australian market,” said Christian Hewitt, Chief Sales Officer, EV-NRG.  “The i-light represents not just a new product, but a new era in how we power electric mobility — smarter, faster, and more efficiently than ever before.”
