With the new wage rates about to come into effect now is the time to ask your questions, and get some answers in order to start the year of well.  To assist ACAPMA is holding a New Wage Rate Q & A Session.

The outcome of the National Wage Case is fast approaching and will bring with it an increase in the Minimum Wage that will flow on to all Awards and Agreements, impacting all staff who are making less than $167,500 a year.  Failure to correctly prepare for, implement and communicate the annual changes in the base and dependent rates is a common cause for underpayment.

“One of the most common unintended errors we see when we are auditing businesses compliance systems is that they have failed to understand or correctly implement the required National Wage Case changes.  From misunderstanding how the Minimum Wage works, to simple rounding issues, this is an annual task that, if done wrong, can have massive implications over time” explains ACAPMAs Elisha Radwanowski.
